Finally at the galapagos, very surreal. The airport is just a wooden shack, luggage collection is just bags dumped on the floor.
I had to catch a bus, then a boat to another island, then a taxi to get to my home-stay. Throughout the journey I was admiring the landscape, and the Jurassic Park theme tune kept playing on repeat in my head.
Home-stay is immense, hot running water and my very own kichen/living space, as not many volunteers are here. There's one girl volunteer here, who is actually friends with Matt 'Guernsey' Nichols, a friend from uni...small world indeed.
As soon as I settled I explored the island I was on. Saw giant turtles, lots of crabs, iguanas, salamanders, lazy sea lions and pelicans all In one walk...pretty mind blowing.
