A quite reflective day.

I’ve taken many years thinking what would I like to do with my long service leave and while a RTW trip has some appeal commitments prevent.

It seemed obvious carry on with more TET, mixed with some sightseeing, friends and family.

Did not get very far today, but I have four days to get to BdB. Warm response from Claire to arrive in time for sat markets.

It was getting late after few false starts Sat nav found me a place to stay 37 euro motel or 12 to camp given it was almost 7 pm, no question. Cheap Beers, free wi fi and about to order dinner.

Forgot how desolate and windy this part of spain is, rode up over a barren plan at around 1000 metres, seemed familiar rode this way before. Saw big lake lots of kite surfers, too early to stop.

Lots of windfarms & compared to last time I rode this way lots of closed and for sale signs, the last couple of years has taken a heavy toll. Little hamlets with small hostels, bars, all reliant on tourist traffic, closed.

Need to get a Spain �sim card.

Eventually stopped after some unforced errors in nav. Searched Camping headed for nearest town considered stopping in …. However lots of closed stores & factories, abandoned buildings with broken glass, extensive graffiti, writing in the wall not staying here tonight.

Note to self Research Slow travel and slow riding, A bed a coffee, good friends, light exercise, culture, markets, great food, BdB.
