Again almost 9.30 am by the time I raised my weary he’d, not a brilliant nights sleep.
A Dairy free croissant awaited me with nice message. Claire had gone to the markets a fresh dairy free Croissant and coffee and sunny blue sky welcomed me.
The BdB markets never disappoint and keep drawing me back, full of new surprises and some familiar. Little old ladies and men had bring a few veggies and wild mushrooms to sell to make a few extra euros. As you walk past they smile at you their wizened or weathered faces told their life story. Not as busy as usual early in the season less tourists than normal and tourism has not picked up fully yet.
Visited the Fish market for tonight’s Paella. Veggies & fruit for the week, so fresh and tasty always shop with the locals.
Our Trolley now full and heavy with fish, veggies and seafood we headed back past the favourite Boulanger to offload. The baker was a real character. I bought an amazing looking Almond tart which we shared over coffee break in their sunny garden.
Back for more markets to buy several bottles of nice local BdB micro brewery ales. Then back to the main market hall & seafood stall where Claire & I devoured 12 sweet tasting Oysters & washed them down with exceptionally good French white wine. While people watching.
More wandering through the market stalls and it was now time for a nano nap…the wine had brought the time closer.
Sound of the bells rang out over the town, the evening call to church echoing.
The unfamiliar sound of a cork popping, what’s that, dinner in a balmy outdoor garden the free range hen pecking at our feet being closely watched by their dog.
Sharing home made Paela, with great friends.
Finally watching MTB racing…it does not get much better.
