It is now the morning of the 19th of May, and we have just sailed from Venice. I am sad to leave the city behind though I feel that we had a good two and a half days, maybe two total with the arrival so late on the sixteenth and the boarding process yesterday. We have seen many many sights in Venice and have some excellent memories to take with us. A tour of a glass blowing factory in Murano and the many long walks around Venice herself. The gondola ride which was so peaceful and such a unique perspective of the city. Our hotel room just off of Plaza Roma, such a good location for each new exploration of the city. The many open cafes and the shops and churches that lined the narrow streets and byways. I loved all the interesting shops with glass and unique items like masks and trinkets and the many small hidden alleys and bridges that led to quiet parks and neighborhoods. It is hard to say goodbye to such a unique place and I hope to return someday to further explore this jewel of the Mediterranean.
