Rome, the cradle of civilization. The eternal city itself, today since we have been to St. Peters in Rome on a previous tour we elected to explore the countryside around Rome, with all the history in the area it should be a very interesting day - more later. All town on a hilltop with an incredible Gothic Basilica - the town was a medical town and we had a fantastic tour in spite of a light rain, the lunch was wonderful as we had local cuisine and wine and true Italian style meals. There was olive trees and vineyards all around the hilltop and the locals worked some beautiful ceramics as well as the production of olive oil and wine. Though a longer drive the ride through the countryside was very interesting and we saw a part of Italy we had never imagined.
