Up early today as off to the Grand Canyon. A black limousine picked us up at the hotel to take us to the Hellicopter Port. Before leaving we all had to be weighed (wish Ihadn't been eating so much!!) but hey they let me on board -phew.
Our pilot was called Fred he was very friendly and informative. It was amazing beautiful views and colours in the valleys and on the mountains, some mountains had snow at the top. The Water looked like sparkling diamonds and the sky was so bllue and clear. We landed in an area owned by the Indians and had a wander around taking photographs, felt as if I was in a dream! The pilots prepared a champagne picnic for us and we sat in the middle of the Canyon feeling very honoured to be there. All to soon it was time to leave we flew back over the beautiful Canyon and met up with our limo driver who whisked us back to the hotel.
Alan decided to stay at the hotel for the afternoon and the rest of the gang caught the bus and went downtown to explore the old part of Vagas. It was very colourful with a zip wire going down the Main Street which had a curved roof where they had films showing in the evenings. There were many bars, shops and cafes. One cafe was called Heart Attack Cafe and the staff were dressed as Doctors and Nurses and the customers were given operating gowns to wear when they were eating. it was so funny!
That evening we went to a beautiful restaurant in the Paris Hotel called Mes Amie Gabie. The food was Devine. What a great day.
