Walked down to the river missisippee which was covered in mist to our meeting point for a city tour. We boarded our coach and set off. The driver was also the guide. We saw all the different types of houses in many bright colours and styles, a beautiful park with a sculpture area with amazing pieces of art by famous artists from all over the world. Unusual trees with Spanish moss hanging from their branches looking like they had been draped in decorations. A lot of the trees in the city were covered in shiny beads as they had just had Mardi Gras.We stopped at a cemetery with all of the graves above ground. The city trams and horse drawn carriages. We returned to the river and boarded a paddle steamer (one of three original steamers left on the river). Unfortunately it was pouring with rain and the mist kept coming down but we enjoyed the trip. In the lounge a jazz band was playing. We were able to go into the engine room and see how the steamer worked. When we got back it was pouring with rain so we took shelter for a while before walking back towards the hotel. We decided to go and get a meal in a famous restaurant called "Mothers" it was a very basic place, the walls were covered with photos of famous people from all walks of life who had visited the restaurant. The meal was yummy we had two meals between the four of us!
