We arrived in the seaside town of Buzios on Saturday afternoon and checked straight into our hostel which turned out to be the nicest place we have stayed. Thanks to them not recieving our online booking we were upgraded to a double room from a dorm for free! Tim soon found a new best friend in Shoyu, the hostel dog. That evening we had a walk around the town and the beautiful harbour.
The next day we walked along the coast to sunbathe and swim at a nice little beach a few bays from the main harbour. In the evening we relaxed in the hostel watching films and getting to know the owners and other travellers.
On the Monday we went to Praia do Tartaragua (Turtle Beach - although unfortunately we didnt see any) which was a lovely clean beach with calm clear water and white sand. While watching the fishing boats go out and come back we tried some local food including a cocada, a sweet made from sugar and coconut.
With Tuesday being our last day in Buzios we decided to check out a beach on the other side of the peninsula, it was nice enough but a bit windy and cold! The following day we stopped off at another beach town called Arrail do Cabo to relax a little more on another beach, this one having powder soft sand and a stunning shallow harbour with warm water. That night we flew to Salvador!
