So today, we had an easy and lazy day. We didn't start too early.
We made the trip to Cape Tribulation. I must admit there isn't much there, I was expecting a bit more. Apart from some tours companies and a couple of camping sites, all there is are beaches or very expensive tours ….. but I have to say the beaches are really beautiful. The water was warm and was perfect and we very much enjoyed walking the whole length of the beach in the shallow water. We showed the boys how to search for pipis, but we couldn't find any. We also, showed them some of the small rock pools. We didn't have the right shoes to get to the bigger one. The scenery was awesome, looking a lot like Jurassic Park as Didier pointed out. Thank God we didn't see any dinosaurs (as per the movie).
A quick visit to Daintree Village for lunch. The village is a quaint little place, only one street and a dozen shop fronts, but a really nice little place and very friendly.
From there, we went on a wildlife cruise on the Daintree River. Interesting concept from the tour company as their boats are solar powered so they are very eco-friendly. Got to see some crocs, not as big as some we have seen in the Northern Territory, but big enough for us not to take a swim in the river. We were lucky to see some very young ones as well. Very friendly and nice cruise.
Back to the caravan park for a well deserved swim as requested by the boys and off to Mossman for dinner.
Torture movie for tonight - Charlie Brown!
