We bid farewell to St Andrews as we made our way to Inverness but out first shop was Kincaple, the philp/haig ancestral home - after having a look from the outside and taking a few photos it was time to get back on the road!!!
The scenery on the drive between St Andrews and Inverness was absolutely spectacular!!! There was a lot of roadworks but the views and the old houses were amazing!!
3.5 hrs later we arrived at Inverness and where we were staying - Kingsmills located right next to the impressive Inverness Golf Course. After getting settled in, it was time for lunch - we are finding more places are offering set menus for around £10 and they are normally nice portion sizes and offer a bit more variety than 4 ways to do potato!!!
We didn't do anything that first day just went for a bit of a wander and relaxed a bit, preparing ourselves for our big tour to the Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan castle. We had dinner in at the restaurant at the hotel which was a bit ordinary and the bar staff needed to have a bit of training in making monitors and vodka, lime and sodas but overall it was ok.
After dinner we just went back to the room just to relax I watched tv and Sean played the computer - it was also a bit of down time from each other :)
