Rachel's Travelling
Monica and i journeyed up the blue mountains and have done many exciting things. We learnt how to throw a boomberang, we cuddled a koala (hence picture) - they are actually a lot cuter than you would think- we fed kangaroos, went up the steepest railway train in the world, went to an amazing sweet shop and visited the olympic stadium. We heard aboriginal stories about the three sisters and learnt why the blue mountains are blue; the euclyptus trees secrete an oil which makes a blue haze over the mountains, not that blue the day we went up though.
Sydney was great and in many ways we wish we'd stayed there longer as there seems to be less to do further up. We also had the best hostel ever which made a huge difference. Oh we also went up the sky tower in Sydney which was amazing, but very rushed you could see for miles (as you would imagine) and you really understood why people thought the world was flat, you looked like you would just drop off at the horizon.
