Yes that is what we saw today. We went to the "thermal wonderland" of waiotapu. It was really fun we saw new zealand's largest mud pool, the champagne pool an amazing flourescent green lake and a massive geyser called Lady Knox. They make the Lady knox geyser spurt by putting soap down it so they can do shows everyday, very funny as bubbles…

Stike appears to be over. I suspect by the time you get here all will be well. Yesterday those booked on flights due to leave were being given priority while they tried to fit the people caught up in the strikes into spare seats. As your flight is London to Newcastle if you find you cannot get a flight you can always come by train. Getting home is always much easier than when disaster strikes on your way out of the country on holiday. Hope your return journey goes well.
I am planning to meet you at the airport. Margie is planning to meet Monica. We both have to go back to work so hope the flights work out and are on time!
See you soon.
Love Mum

Everything is great here, we've had a fantastic time, off to Auckland tomorrow so only two days left really!! Amazing how fast its gone. Does anyone know what's going on with the british airways flights cos we are on one of them at some point and don't know what's going on, they have stopped the strikes now haven't they?

Glad to hear u r having so much fun in NZ. Sounds much too exciting! Well, Dad and I went fishing last night and I caught my first seatrout with a dozen sea lice on it so it had just come in on the tide and swum up the river. I lost 2 other fish as well. One because I did not tie the fly on correctly - very annoying. Dad caught one and lost one so he was very pleased. We set off home as it was getting dark at about 21.30. I fell flat on my face and thought I had smashed my glasses. There is something to trip over everytime we go and it is worse in the dark. Amazingly, I was completely unharmed.
Hope u continue to have sugh a good time.
Love Mum

thus far i've enjoyed new zealnd more just because at the end of aus we got a bit bored of rainforests and beaches especially as the weather was terrible and we'd done everything we wanted to because each place offered pretty much the same activities. I really want to go back to the west coast of australia and some stuff on the other side, that's apparantly not as touristy. The thing with nz is that its small so all the different things to do are closer together, and the landscapes very diverse. For example, we are going skiing today, we went horseriding yesterday, next week or so we are going to a maori village, looking at thermal activity, we might walk round the crater of a volcano, do some whale watching and black water raft (go through rivers in caves whilst looking out for glowworms, apparantly like the milkyway!) so theres a lot to do really! enjoy fishing (and on call if you can!) love rach
Dad
Great you got the photos on, most fun. If NZ is better than Australia we have to go. I loved Australia, absolutely. So many really great things about it. Brilliant holiday, Even tho' not much fishing considering. Cold and rainy here at present although sun has come out today. On-call this weekend and next, so have to go fishing tomorrow evening... Oh well.
See you soon.

I just learned from your Mom that you and Moninca went to see Tamie and family. I am so glad that you did that as it is just nice to know where people live. Luke & Anna are fun too! Ian is fun too when there are just a few around.
I see you are on the south Island of NZ ... I think Alexa was there a year and a half ago with the geology class she was taking at Uni. I hope you are enjoying yourself. Just take care.
