24th-25th May

After 16½ hrs on the night train we arrive in Hoi An.If I never have to get on one of those trains again it'll be too soon, they are horrible but saves on a night's accomodation I guess! As soon as we arrived in Hoi An we loved it, it's a lovely place and I'm certainly looking forward to visiting the tailor made shops. We're staying at a nice hotel called Thien Nga which has a small swimming pool and the view from our room over looks the rice paddy fields. By far the cleanest and nicest place we've been, so loving it already. The people are very friendly and everything is so much more chilled out. Very mediterranean style. Spent the afternoon chilling by the pool of our hotel and later met up with the girls.Recommended that a walk down by the river is a must do as at night it's really pretty with most of the hotels, bars and restaurants are nicely lite up.We ate at a place called 'Mango Rooms' a place where McJagger once went during his stay here and the food was delish (I'm getting more adventurous and even tried red snapper, which to my surprise I actually thought was very tasty!)From here we went to a bar called 'Before and Now' where we saw flyers to a beach party so finished off our drinks and got the free mini bus down to the beach bar. Arrived at happy hour (buy one get one free on all cocktails) so we all had a couple of Blue Lagoons - Trina, we've found memories of these eh :o) Played a game of doubles on pool then made a start on the Vodka buckets (Jeez the drinks are strong here!). All sounds great doesn't it and when we first arrived we thought so too but it wasn't long before the freaks came out (where do some people come from!) Well it gave us a laugh for a short while anyway but we soon left.The following morning we were up early for breakfast went to another nice place called Cargo and then onto 'Adong Silk' for our tailor made dresses.Spend all morning in here, it was great. We all ended up getting the same dress (how sad are we!) mine was a different colour though!Spent another afternoon sunbathing and in the evening we ate at a nice restaurant called Cargo then had a wander around the shops before picking up our dresses and then on for a few drinks to finish off the evening
