Work
Well after searching for about three weeks the day of work finally dawns on us. We are now salesman, something that I found quite appealing doing something out of my comfort zone interested me. Lawson not so much, but tough it's happening. We got our strides and shirts on, ironed as best as my skills could muster and we meet our colleagues. On first sight, what can I say... We got a scruffy red neck with clumpy skater boy trainers on a shirt collar rolled up, a 30yr old with 8yrs of sales experience in a minimum wage job, a boy with a stutter and a full suit on in 30+ degree heat, and a boss who crossed between Geordie and Australian. Well after a few days of learning the trade and getting to know these people, we not only become very popular but also the best sellers, not a hard feat in the situation we was placed in but still an achievement all the same. 3 weeks later we had some banter, some laughs mainly at the people surrounding us and there dramas and it was over. The company shut the whole team down, and with it the only work we would do in our lengthy stay in perth. We left on a high tho, only in the knowledge that lawson achieved salesman of the week on 2 of the 3 weeks. On the other I took the mantle, this included two new additions to the workforce aswell. In all honesty walking the streets trying to sell double glazed windows to Australians wasn't my greatest moment. But one ill remember all the same...
