We just left the Ghana National Broadcast Center. They have an amazing network of multiple stations. We took a picture with one of the sports broadcasters who was about to go on air. We were able to go behind scenes to see the team coordinate his production ... So nice to see them work out the tense live showing and see the director keep each guy doing his job.
I am sure I will say more about that later. We also watched a dance team outside the studio do some exercising. That was fun. I would have been able to get fun and exercise were I with them.
After leaving the studio, my first thought was of how many people here look like people I know. They also have similar personalities. When I got in the car, I found my bag of peppermints and shared some with the guide and driver. I realized it was so universal, so Ghanaian, so human. Then I realized this was so much what my mother would have done by offering peppermint. That is when I also realized that the spirit of my family of aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins all have that Aftican spirit. Many African traits have not been lost; they are with my aunts and uncles and grandparents.
