alright sweaty dog

we left rainbow beach after frasiers and made our way to noosa . yes we became surfers there . we took lessons one day and were shown up by a couple of 5 year olds . we thought we were doin good untill they surfed passed us but we still claim we can surf , we did stand up ride those waves . old skool . we got warned about sleeping in the van on the streets and told wed get a $700 fine so we packed up our bongos and left for caloondra . we drove the biggest storm ever , fork lightning and rain where we couldnt see the road to get to diarmaids relatives house . we stayed there a couple nights and they treated us like kings . food, beer , bed and a hot shower , what more do we need . we went to australlia zoo with with ryan (diarmaids cousin ) and saw the animals . hunners a animals . steve irwin wasnt there though , dunno why ? . we left and headed to brisbane . we couldnt find anywhere i the city center to sleep in the van so we stayed about 40 mins on the bus outside , next to the biggest shoppin center on earth , (we got lost in it a couple times)was alright though cos thats where we bought our decorations for sheila . we had a tree , solar lights for it , a nativity scene and plenty of tinsil round the windows . we went into the city to eat and go on the big wheel there , was pretty cool i spose . also visited the castlemaine xxxx brewery (brought back memories of the yard shambles) free beer end of the tour , everyone wins , hutchy even got some xxxx shorts . next we headed to surfers paradise (to surf , unsuccessfully ) we hired a board for 24 hours at 3pm , we went to the beach then took the board back at 5pm cos we were too bad and too annoyed . money well spent . surfin is sh*te . its a quality place . it was schoolie season though . thousands of schoolies go to the beach for a party . its funny cos the police keep stealin there drink and sendin them home , quality . next we went to byron bay for a few days , had a great time just hangin about the beach , bumped into a few people from frasier island and went out with a drink with them . although it was one of the first times we had to pay to stay somewhere . went to coffs harbour next to break up the journey . we went to the pub and played pool agains an aboriginal guy who offered us his home for the night . we politely rejected . nice of him though (creep) .we left in the morning and went to port stephen to meet tom and neil from frasiers , stayed there a few night havin a laugh with them then drove them to newcastle , with our santa hats , christmas tunes and decorations around us , it was just like christmas back home . next stop . sydney
