Adventures of a Global Wanderer
This summer during my trip back again to Toronto I was using Cooksville Go Stn just south of Square One. I used to live here from 1998-2004 and was surprised to see a new suburban Koreatown in three adjacent plazas that were not here back when I lived there. The small area is on Dundas St West, a few blocks east of Hurontario, around where the GM dealership used to be. The first plaza had a bakery, chiropracter, restaurant, and butchers store The second plaza after the old GM dealership is where I used to get my hair cut. The hair salon is gone and the entire plaza has been 'Korean-ized' complete with a Shinahan Bank branch with ATM I was going to try to put my Nonghyup card in there but decided not to incase it swallowed it as an invalid card then I would have no bank card when I got back to Korea!. The next plaza east towards Cawthra is a large grocery store which had been there back from when I was living there. The upper floor has some office services. The supermarket was well stocked and felt just like being back in Korea except for the prices . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Further east by Tomken is a Bank of Montreal with Korean writing. The old GM dealership also has a Korean Repair Garage in there now.
