A last minute beautiful moment, how a customer survey turns into a conversation to remember forever.
Just after checking in i am approached by a happy young lady who asks me if i want to fill out a survey with her about Taiwan. I say yes and not for long she senses my sadness. She asks me about it and the survey turns into an open conversation about pride, hope, family and wellness. She has words of wisdom that i have not heard before and certainly did not expect in a situation like this one. She feels me and comforts me in a single minute. She gives me a sense of hope and joy, in the middle of total sadness. She smiles at me and tells me to come back when all this is over. I cry and tell her I love her and I love her country. She touches my hand and I shiver. She says 'be strong and be happy for life'. She turns around and walks away. More surveys to be done. She doesn't know how she has forever entered my memory.
At the very last moments i am receiving the definition of the experience i was looking for. Thank you Taiwan, thank you.

Jenny before, there will be lots of free concerts on New Year's eve- almsot every city/county will host one. Taipei city will definitely hold one, but I'm not sure where it'll be at. Just ask around, or read the newspapers which will usually mention the various lineups and locations. A good English newspaper in Taiwan is the Taipei Times. And I'm pretty sure that you can go from the MRT near Ximenting and get close to Taipei 101. Once you get to the MRT station closest to Taipei 101, there will usually be free shuttle buses going to Taipei 101. However since almsot everyone will be out on the streets on New Year's I'm not sure how quick you'll be able to get there. But at least the MRT will be open the entire night.
