22nd

Got to Wellington today after a 12 hour bus journey and like it so much better already. It's so much nicer than Auckland. Could easily see myself living and working here - let's hope the job situation is better than in Auckland.

23rd

Went on a bar crawl with the hostel tonight. Met 2 really nice Irish guys, Colman and Barry. Ended up a bit more than tipsy. Went to this bar and met someone from Clarkston! Couldn't believe it, what a small world. The place was absolutely packed, so much better than the nightlife in Auckland as well.

24th

So did something today apart from drinking (that came later!) Meandered around the town and then went to the beach. Apart from being windy the weather is lovely. Got a bit of sunbathing in!

Asked about a job at the hostel and they have some available so put in an application form - fingers crossed. Really need to start earning some money soon.

Went out again that night. Back to the same club and then on to an irish bar. Asked the band to play Mr Brightside and they did. Love that song so much.

25th

After sleeping off my hangover, me, Laura and Dee went to the botanical gardens. Took about a million pictures of lovely colourful flowers. It was really nice.

I also got a job! Not at the hostel but at a place called Flat Point, a few hours north east of Wellington. It looks gorgeous. It's mainly vineyard work with some housekeeping and odd jobs thrown in. It's not great paid but hey it's a job.

26th

Went to the museum today which had a whole section on Scots in New Zealand. Very interesting. Spent about 3 hours in the place, the longest I think I have ever spent in a museum.

Ended up going out again - my farewell to Wellington. Not going to have much of a chance at Flat Point so need to make the most of it!
