So pretty much the only thing i new about Jodphur before we arrived was that it shared its name with some kick ass trouser wear, and hell what's a better reason to go there than that! We arrived in Jodphur at 8am after taking a 12 hour sleeper train from Agra. It's so strange how differently we are treated in each place we go. In Delhi I was the property of James, in Agra I was only acknolwedged if James introduced me and in Jodhpur we are both treated like celebrities. Everywhere we seem to go the locals run up to us and ask to have their photos with us. I could really get used to this.
We stayed at Yogi's Guest House which had a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Blue City and the famous fort. Even better though, it was the first hostel with hot water (Laura - this was a serious Duke of Edinburgh moment!) so we washed our dirty clothes and hung them up around the room to dry then took a cheeky stroll up through the Blue City and into the fort. The view of the Blue City from up in the fort was definately worth the hike - we contemplated going out that night and painting the town red but we figured we didnt want to upset the locals so headed home for some grub on the rooftop and hit the hay.
The next morning I woke up feeling pretty ill - it could've been the food or all the dirt and disease but more likely it was due to the fact that we'd managed to give damp to the entire room due to the dripping wet clothes hanging all over the place. Oops! thats what happens when i try to do housework - it always ends badly and just shouldn't be attempted :)
We had a pretty relaxing day wandering about the streets of Jodhpur.
