We got to Agra early afternoon and we were already getting used to the old bartering game, ripping off the taxi driver taking us to our hotel. The hotel was a lot nicer than the one in Delhi and from the restaurant on the rooftop we had an awesome view of the taj mahal. The people seemed a lot friendlier too, although think Joanne is a tad peaved that she is treated like my property a little bit, for example if she pays for something they'll give me the change (to be fair i could get used to it) We took a stroll to the back of the walls around the taj that night but to be fair my attention was mainly on the monkeys that were kicking about on the other side of the road. Apologies for the amount of pictures of the taj (and monkeys) but it really was absolutely amazing (and the monkeys were just too darn cute.)
The next morning we got up for 5am to be the first in to see the taj but our enthusiasm didnt really pay off since when we got there it was pitch black and we couldnt see a thing, plus it was freezing. When the sun did eventually come up though it was definitely worth the wait, easily the most beautiful thing i have ever seen (apart from joanne at 5 in the morning with a sailors hat on of course!)
After the taj, we went to see Agra fort and felt a tad guilty for our awesome bartering skills when we agreed on roughly 15p for a bike rickshaw to the fort cycled by perhaps the skinniest man in india, who had to push us both and our bags up a hill since he couldnt cycle anymore. The fort was pretty sweet and there was a complete monkey overload outside so even managed to feed one some masala nuts - probably killed the poor little fella but was totally worth it.
Dinner was a little bit of an event with about 4 different cafe's shouting us in and dragging us towards their own place. Eventually we had an organized poll with everyone eating in the places to shout how good the food was. We then made our way to the trains tation for an over night train to Jodhpur.
Sorry its taken so long to write, takes a while for all the photos to upload. We'll try and put more about Jodhpur and mount Abu(where we are at the moment up soon.) But in short, having an awesome time, the food is brilliant, there are so many monkeys and i appear to own Joanne.
