So after having Indian for 3 nights in a row, it turns out I WAS RIGHT- I don't miss Indian food!!! Was never more excited to see a nandos before....
I absolutely love Malaysia!!!! The food, the sights, the people (although not loving how every restaurant I go to, everyone starts speaking to me in the local language, trying to get me to communicate the menu for the others- app because I look Indian, I should understand all the different languages....... I have trouble keeping up with Gujarati)
Cameron highlands
Cameron highlands was amazing!!! When I heard we were going up a mountain, I pictured a secluded area where we were the only people....... I had no idea there was civilisation 6666 ft above ground....... There's a whole village with schools and everything!! The rocky 2 hour ride was not great up the winding roads but the activities/ hotel defo made up for it. We stayed at a lovely hotel up in the hills with adorable rooms and gorgeous views....... Activities were endless....
Walked/ hiked through the mossy forest - saw trees that made tiger balm and cinnamon
Visited the largest tea plantation in Malaysia- (not a big tea drinker but was abs in awe of how much work goes into making tree- the plantation was massive!!
Walked through a strawberry farm and tried different strawberries with strawberry based dips........ It was like a giant strawberry world at the local cafe
Strawberry hot chocolate
Strawberry coffee
Chocolate strawberries with ice cream (my personal fav)
We spent the afternoons doing group meditation- never realised just how difficult it is to get into it...... I tried to empty my head (shut it Trups) of thoughts but kept getting distracted with all the music And then had to control myself from laughing when I heard snoring!!
Kuala lumpar
Such a contrast to the rest of the towns in Malaysia- extremely cosmopolitan. Of course it was my type of town....... They had lovely night markets (central market being my fav- so many stalls, it would have taken weeks to get through it but I did well- naturally) Chinatown was amazing too with '100% authentic rip offs' . Needless to say there was a lot of late night shopping.
A personal highlight was the Petrona twin towers. We went in the evening on our first night and the illumination was beautiful- pictures just did not do it any justice at all. The next day we went to the 86th floor for a view of the whole of Malaysia and it was almost as amazing as the Rockefeller centre:)
The views out of the infamous Skybar were stunning too....... Had a lovely night having cocktails and listening to good music........ Was great to have a cocktail after such a long time (missed you team fab and barmi)
On our way to Melaka now ( a small town) for our stopover before we cross the border to Singapore- woohoo:)
Although it will be our last night as a group so a little sad too
