We finished our New Zealand trip making our way back up the west coast of the North Island. We explored the coast line once again as well as Mt. Taranaki, on a bit of an overcast day. We crossed paths with a High School group on a hiking trip for 3 days and while they looked a bit beaten down I took the opportunity to remind them to soak it in...they are very lucky.
Our final stop before arriving back in Auckland was Raglan, an “artsy/bohemian” town as the Airbnb host described it. It is situated about 20 minutes from 3 point breaks along beautiful coastline. There is a beautiful little pub at the inlet with a patio and awesome food. Right up our alley.
As we arrived back in Auckland we met back up with Frank’s colleague, explored Rangitoto Island, and completed the bridge walk. All of the kiwi’s we met were lovely, and always helpful. Although NZ is far away from everything except Australia, it is a beautiful country and we are so lucky to have had “just under” three months to explore every nook & cranny!
