Deb's Adventures
Sometimes you just need a vacation and you don't even know it until you decide to go. This was the case for me this week. Eric and I have spent a lot of time on family vacations this year and we have had house guests for the past 3 months. Awesome house guests, but it has left us with very little time to spend alone together. The last time we had 5 days just him and I was way back in the beginning of August. Needless to say the last 5 days have been amazing for us.
The last two days have been pretty lazy for us. We spent both days on the beach playing Bananas and Tri-ominoes sipping tropical drinks. We would take the occasional dip in the ocean and nap everyone once in a while in the hot Mexican sun. The staff has taken amazing care of us. The sunsets are gorgeous.
Eric tried kayaking and paddle boarding but both were tough in the rough surf. I had fun watching him try to tackle the big waves. Both adventures were brief and then we went back to relaxing. We have also seen dolphins and whales each day but they are usually pretty far out.
Our hot-tub on our deck broke down so the resort offered us two free massages and a private candlelight dining experience. Both were amazing. The hot-tub was only out for 24 hours and we were able to use it again last night.
Two nights ago we had a private Mescal tasting with Herando, the bar captain. He just kept pouring shots until we finally said no more and stumbled home. He learned that I really like Damiana and that it is not available at home. Last night Hernando presented me with a bottle to take with us.
The staff here has been amazing. The resort is beautiful. The food and service is out of this world. Really great job Eric picking this out of the way gem. I am glad the bachelor has not ruined the charm here. We will definitely be back again soon.
Eric just looked up the weather at home. It looks like we got 6 inches of snow yesterday and it is currently negative 21 degrees. Today is the coldest day in two years in Colorado. Goodbye paradise. We will miss your 80 degree weather.
