Deb's Adventures
My day began at 6am. I finished packing and showered and we left the house around 8:30 to drive 20 minutes to the train. Thank goodness Lesley decided to ride the train to the airport with me. The half empty suitcase I brought with me is full and I have added a second suitcase to my pile of things to carry. Now I have two full check-in bags and my computer bag and handbag to carry-on. I never would have managed the train on my own. The part where I had to change trains at Central and walk forever to the airport train would have been nearly impossible.
We arrived at the airport at around 11am for a 1:05pm flight. The flight was already delayed by 50 minutes. Air Pacific is not a very timely way to travel. It didn't really matter to me. I had a four hour layover in the Fiji airport anyway. Lesley and I found a coffee shop and I sat with her one last time while she drank a cuppa. We had a very teary goodbye and hugged several times and finally parted ways.
I made it through immigration and TSA and had time for lunch. I found a place near my gate that had big cushy couches and served lunch. I had a couple hours to kill so I had a sandwich, a glass of wine and did sudoku puzzles while watching all the international people.
My flight left just about one hour late. It was an uneventful five hour flight. I watched movies and enjoyed a beautiful sunset as we started to descend into Fiji. By the time I got off the plane and went through TSA again, which I thought was a little strange, I still had two and a half hours to kill. Not much goes on in that little airport so I was kind of bored and found myself just looking forward to the next flight.

Linda Ballou I love these sunset pictures. They are really unusual & just so gorgeous. They should be used in ads or . . . somewhere! Thanks for all the great updates on your travels. I really enjoyed the trip!
