hello everyone we have made it to dubrovnik as planned for a few days relaxation in the sun! after a rather bad journey by train and bus here we got lost on the way to our apartment. the owner picked us up though which was fortunate as her guesthouse is situated on the top of the hill over looking the city. the view from our room is beautiful, but before we could enjoy it lack of sleep caught up with us and we took an early night (one of us sleeping for over fourteen hours ahem..) on wednesday we headed beachwards for the afternoon and enjoyed a quick dip in the sea before it began to rain. after buying our bus passes the only public transport possible here we waited for about an hour for our bus. the timnetables are crazy. by the time we got back we were starving and so cooked our first meal in the apartment: croatian style bangers and mash (boy do we appreciate kitchens at home as it was not the best equipped). today we tried a different beach which was more sandy and sloped gently into the sea... great for swimming and doing handstands. then this afternoon we explored the old town which is massive and easy to get lost in. tomorrow we hope to climb its huge walls and then take an island tour, possibly depending on budget. one week left and two possibly three more countries to be explored! still as excited as ever! love to you all debs and phil xx
