Hi all, Katie and I arrived in Thailand on Wednesday and once we got to the airport we put our finger in the air and chose to go to Rayley first, we haven't really planned to far in advance and are going to go with the flow and wing it.
Rayley is amazing, beautiful beaches and clear blue sea. We found a nice hotel for thee pounds a night. It really is a top class joint!
We have been spending our time sitting on the beaches and swimming in the sea, and at night having a some great Thai food and a few Chang... officially the best beer going! Its quite quiet here and the nightlife isn't banging techno like we have heard was the case on some of the islands in the East, but it is really nice being in such a chilled out place after Kuala Lumpur.
We got to see some Thai boxing in one of the bars on our first day which was really good. I think I have managed to persuade Katie to go to watch a Muay Thai tournament when we get to Bangkok...
Monkey count is up to three. Saw a tiny little monkey in one of the shops as the owners were looking after it because it had a broken arm after falling out of a tree.
I am not sure if it is just Raley or all of Thailand but there are a lot of Thai men who think they are Rastafarians?! Half the men here have dreadlocks and Bob Marley T-Shirts on. I will investigate further and let you know what the deal is with that!
We are getting a boat to Ko Lanta tomorrow morning and then on to Phi Phi in the middle of next week.
Hope everyone is well
Dean and Katie xxx
