The past few days Ryan and I spent hanging out in Cologne with another great CS host. When we were looking for the address, we weren't sure if we were at the right address because it looked too nice. The building had large glass windows and actually looked like an office building (probably because it actually is). Our host, Bin, lives in one of the penthouse suites atop an office building in Media Park. It is the only floor with homes...the rest are offices. We went up to the 7th floor where we found his 2 floor loft apartment...amazing. We have spend some good nights with Bin... he taught me how to throw a punch and powerful kick. I figured Uncle Doug would be proud as Bin says I'm a natural.
Tonight Ryan checked a German experience off his list. Right outside the apartment, a beer festival was set up. It is like a carnival but instead of rides all over the place, there are beer stands (one is even a rotaing carusel). We went down and Ryan got a beer and a bratwurst (a foot long sausage on a 3" bun). We were also treated to REAL frozen yogurt...the best I have ever had. It was natural yogurt with fresh strawberries. It will be an early one tonight because tomorrow we are on the train again heading to Hamburg.
