So after leaving Port Douglas and hanging around in Cairns for a few hours, we eventually arrived in Mission Beach in the afternoon on Monday 2nd Feb! Weather pretty cloudy...its warm/humid but you can tell its the wet season at the moment!!! The Greyhound wasnt going much further that Innisfall due to the flood waters blocking the highway. People travelling along the Bruce Highway are literally stuck....you cant travel through to Townsville because of the flood...

On Sat 31st Jan we left Cairns and headed an hour north to a little place called Port Douglas. We were caught up in a heavy tropical storm and the rain kept thrashing down during the journey up there. We travelled along a beautiful coastal road which in the sunshine would most probably looked awesome! But today with the rain...everything just looked a bit bleak and we were a bit unsure of our next move!We arrived a Dougies hostel....a good place with cabin style ...

We flew to Cairns from Darwin on 29th Jan and I am never sleeping at an airport ever again! Our flight wasnt until 5am so we had a snooze until check in about 3am.....its horrible! I was like a zombie for the rest of the day!!!!! We arrived in Carins to good weather, hot and humid! The airport is literally minutes from the town so we were at our hostel in no time!!! Cloud 9 Part 3 Litchfield & Kakadu National Parks ‘The Top End’ We were now on our last leg of our tour. We said goodbye to Sophie and Tom as they were doing this tour in a few days time, so with the lovely old German couple also departing and a few others we were now down to 11 for the last 3 days. We had to get up at 5am and after a big night out, that wasn’t quite a good idea! Lets just say it was hilarious watching Karolina trying to get dressed!!...

Cloud 9 Tour Part 2 – Alice Springs to Darwin Another early morning (can you see the trend?) and we met our new tour guide for the next 3 days. Jane, originally from the Blue Mountains near Sydney was to drive us the 1700km (just over 1000 miles) all the way to the top end with some entertaining stops on the way!
