Our Year of Adventure
We were under no illusion that we might do anything energetic during our stay at Hosteria Izhcayluma, it had already been decided that we would just chill out and enjoy the place for a few days.
A breakfast buffet was available in the restaurant with heaps of fresh cut fruit, a homemade muesli full of seeds and coconut shards, some very tasty bread who's recipe must have came from the German owner and gallons of coffee.
We took a wander round the large grounds of the Hosteria, everything was exceptionally well maintained including the gardens. The pool was nice but only to look at today, the water was way too cold for us. The main restaurant and the small terrace had fantastic views over the mountains to the east.
The day was mainly spent on the shared terrace (except there was no one else to be seen) doing some work with photos, blog and reading up on the forthcoming trip into Peru.
Just before dinner, with the sun dropping in the west, the angle of the sun hit the clouds hovering over the mountains just right and created the most amazing rainbow.
We met the other guys at the dinner table again, they had all been more active than us, having went tramping. We nearly felt a bit guilty for being so lazy but we needed the rest and had to get some of the 'administration work' done, especially the blog is still a lot behind because of the Galápagos cruise.
