Our Year of Adventure
We had planned to be starting our walk round Torres Del Paine today, but the accommodation for our planned route was fully booked so we're starting tomorrow instead. It gave us time to get some last minute laundry done and a day to chill out. We would be walking 70km in 4 days so not a bad idea to rest up today.
The only laundry open on a Sunday was conveniently right next door to our hostel so it wasn't a long walk to drop it off. The rest of the morning was spent trying to sort out accommodation in El Calafate, Buenos Aires and Iguazu.
We took a walk into town for some lunch and decided on pizza at La Mesita Grande. It was a long, narrow restaurant with a single table and benches either side and could probably seat about 40 or 50 people. There were only a handful of people in for lunch though so everyone had plenty of elbow room at the table. We ordered a Patagonian Lamb pizza and a Smoked Salmon pizza, both were so tasty that there wasn't any left to take home for later.
Puerto Natales is a very quiet place on a Sunday, most places are closed. We had thought that might be the case and got most of our errands done yesterday, some can wait till Monday morning. The last task of our day was to separate out what we would need for 5 days in the park and pack it into one backpack with the remainder being left behind in a locker at the hostel.
