Hello everyone,
Well on Thursday we had a ladies night at the hostel. We met some new friends and David dressed up as a lady so we could get free drinks. We ended up doing some very funny drinking games with our new mates and needless to say, we went to bed very drunk but lucky enough we only had to walk upstairs!
On Friday afternoon we were very hungover and everyone was walking around the hostel like zombies. Late Friday afternoon our bunk beds started shaking only to find out we had an earthquake - how cool was that? We had the after tremors of the earth quake that hit in Melbourne. Check out global news as I think it made pretty big headlines.
Today we did a day trip down the Great Ocean Road. It is a coastal road outside of Melbourne on the way to Adelaide and we covered 600km today (about 450 miles). If youi google Great Ocean Road then you will probably see some nice stuff. I have put it' own photo album on here. We saw some very beautiful sites in the morning although the sky was a bit grey but in the afternoon it was lovely and sunny where we had the best views of the 12 Apostles, Lord Arch Gorge and London Bridge. The photo in this album which is Lord Arch Gorge was named after the fact that a ship sank there in 1878 called the Lord Arch where all crew members drowned apart from 2 - although we were hungover (again) and had about 4 hours sleep, we did actually learn something today and these sights were very breath taking but although it was sunny and warm, it was very windy and cold on the cliff tops!
Well, we are off to Sydney tomorrow night on the over night bus which is 12 hours. Can't say I'm particuarly looking forward to that but hoping we can sleep our way thorugh. Anyway, much love and speak to you all later from Sydney xxxxxxx
