So happy that we found Cradle Mountain we had to visit the doctors as Megan has developed a Sinus infection - nothing serious but we thought we would get some antibiotics just in case.
The next 2 days really just were filled out with driving through the mountain range back to Hobart. The highlights were the freaky town of Zeeham - which seriously looked like a film set. We were so freaked out by how quiet and clean it was we didn't stop - actually we locked the doors and got out of there quick smart! SO freaky.
Driving through the mountains was very pretty, and a stop at Lake St Clair was well worth it as well. The road was very windey and quite fun to drive. We headed down to another National Park where a popular waterfall Russell Falls was another suprise - even having seen Victoria and Angel Falls this was still worth seeing. The area is also known as Platypus central - and Megan even thought she spotted one. That night we stayed in New Norfolk and were privy to a sensational sunset over the river.
From there it was off to the south for an exploration and then to Mt Wellington which gives great views of Hobart - easily the only highlight of the city.
So as our time is Tasmania comes to an end we were very happy we didn't spend the 4 days on the east coast as it was seriously disappointing! The North is just residential - even if you head to the cute town of Penguin, theres nothing for Tourists. The wilderness and beauty of Cradle Mountain National Park and the drive from there to New Norfolk (including Lake St Clair) is by far the best thing to do. We wish we had just driven the west coast - along a little known track called the wilderness trail. So its off to Sydney and a real bed - which we are very excited about - 4 days sleeping in a car is definately enough...
