Kyoto has proven to be a huge sucess in our eyes - we have had loads of fun and got to see a side of Japan Tokyo can not even begin to show! So we continued our Japanese adventure by heading on the Shinkansen (or Bullet train as we like to call them) to Kyoto. They look so cool, streamlined and exceptionally comfortable even with the huge bags we were carrying. Kyoto is 400 miles south from Tokyo and we did it in 2.5 hours - now that is fast! Driving it's estimated to take 8 hours approx. You don't really feel the speed, that is until you are trying to take a picture of Mt Fuji and nothing comes out...

Konnichiwa all the way from Tokyo, Japan. This place is like no other either of us have been to before, its brilliant - popping out suprise after suprise and challenge after challenge. So we arrived in Tokyo airport and had to catch the train to our hostel in the northern region of Asakusa. Tokyo itself is split up into a range of little cities making one and Asakusa is suppose to be one of the most cultural. You should've seen our faces when we saw the train...

With much sadness we left PD and headed to Cairns - mainly to get ourselves ready for the oncoming journey to Japan, in 3 days. Cairns is not the nicest place in the world - with lots of young backpackers just visiting to drink and party. We took 2 days out of the tranquility and beauty of PD (Port Douglas for those who didn't read the last blog!) to visit the further Northern attractions of Cape Tribulation and Mossman Gorge.
