By 7:20 am we were off from Klagenfurt, headed south to the Balkans. Crossed from Austria through Slovenia and then into Croatia.
We reached Plitvicka Falls by midday and took off hiking through some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. The water is emerald green and so crystal clear! Lots of hiking down to the river and back up to the top of the falls.
After several hours we made it to our destination for the night - the city of Zadar. Directly on the Dalmatian coast, Zadar is a 3000 year town which became a municipality of the Roman Empire in the year 44 b.c.
Our hotel room was in a group of 17 different rooms throughout the Old City Center and fabulous!
We walked the waterfront and watched the sunset over the Adriatic Sea before enjoying a great meal in a quaint little restaurant in the city center. Made it back after three countries visited, 15,000 steps walked, and an amazing day of experiences.
