A lazy packup at Port Augusta with only 160+km to travel to Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges. First stop was the small town of Quorn with it's old world street scape. Dave and I are off to Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges, for the next 4 days at least. We may be offline for this time as we're not sure of how the internet connection is there. We're having a nice lazy day in Port Augusta, catching up on little things to do. See us sitting outside our tent having our muesli breakfast. Weather is perfect for us. Trish has finally made it to Cowell and the famous Cowell Black Jade. After wanting to come here for a long time she was not disappointed. Normally people can only go to the Jade Showrooms at the local Motel. When we arrive at the Motel we asked about seeing the factory area, which is not always available for viewing. The lady said that there was a car over at the factory compound so we scurried over the road just in time to catch the Jade cutter shutting do...

We have been doing all the walks in the National Parks. Kangaroos come in to feed around our tent every night and we have been getting upclose and freindly with all the wild life as you can see from the photo. It is time to move on - heading to Port Augusta to get ready to got to wilpena pound in the heart of the Flinders Ranges. It will be "Rock Hound Heaven". On the way to Port Augusta we will check out the Black Jade at Cowell.

Overcast with a little rain on the trip from Ceduna to Coffin Bay. Very strong winds when we arrived, gusting to 35kph. Had fun setting up the tent in the strong wind. With Dave ( the Captain ) shouting orders and Trish ( the First Mate ) scurrying around we got the tent up and secured ready for a very windy night.
