After a 3 day boat trip from Cambodia & thru the border we eventually made it to Vietnam. Saigon was a cool spot, we stayed there for 4 days & had a few memborable nites out in the "go go" bar as the photo below shows. We met amnon from israel & the travelling bunch, daz, ed & wee jimmy & me of course. We visited the war meuseum, a bit grim but well worth a look, you get to see what the vietnam war was like from there perspective & not a western one.
We also visited the cu chi tunnels, the viet cong tunnels, they were scary, absolutely tiny tunnels with no air inside. They go for 250km, but the one we travelled thru was just 90m in length. They are built for very small asian men, so most westerners will find it hard work crawling through them even though they have made them slightly bigger.
We then travelled to Mui Ne & later to Na Thrang. Decent spots, basically beach resorts, The sailing club in Na thrang is good spot for a few drinks and it stays open late so you can dance the nite away, full of westerners.
We finally got the train to Hanoi, an experience in itself, took 24 hours which we spent sleeping mostly, had a few drinks as well of course. Only spent 1 day in Hanoi. Then back to Bangkok for a few nites before our trip to Hong Kong.
