Well had a cool day yesterday apart from the heat, that was something else, think ive just managed to get the t-shirt off my back, with all the sweat, disgusting!!. Yep it was roasting in Ayers Rock, around the 45c mark our guide told us, it was flies paradise, had to wear a flies net to keep the wee ba*****s away, they attack!! Their worse then the Japs & their big lensed cameras, the place was infested with them.
The day started too early for me, a 5.30am wake up & we were off at 5.45am on the way to Ayers Rock. I booked the trip the day before in the hostel & the girl said the tour company was cool & that they served up a great barbie, all true but she forget to tell me that it was an OAP tour, I think I was the only person under 30, apart from two Germans but I think they were older than me..crazy, but I had good fun anyhow.
The day flew by, it took an age to get out to Ayers Rock & our guide preceeded to bring us on 3 45 minute walks in the sweltering heat, must have lost 1/2 a stone yesterday but id say I put most of it back on during the barbie, that was cool.
I have to say I've gotten some mixed reactions to Ayers Rock from the people Ive talked to but for me its the 2nd most impressive thing Ive seen in Oz, well the other, you just have to use your imagination..
Also there were no Japs on the tour, thought the heat was getting to me, that I was seeing a mirage, but hell there is a God, the first tour Ive been on with no Japs. Dont get me wrong Im sure they are a nice bunch when you get to know them..as if!!
Well Alice Springs is a cool little spot apart from the flies & insane heat. Ive enjoyed my time here, now Im off to Brisbane for a few days..
