We headed to Mackay for a couple of days, it was nice to chill out after the last few days. But after two days we were ready to move on. There is nothing to do in Mackay. We then went to Airlie Beach, from here we are going sailing for three days on the whitsundays. Our boat is called Eureka II. There are 13 of us in total so we are quite a small boat compared to some of the others. We left Cairns and headed for Townsville. We only stayed a night as the next day we were going to Magnetic island. We got the ferry over to the island,it didn't take long. Our hostel is right on the beach. We didn't really do a great deal, manly get up have breakfast then sunbathe!! We also hired a sae kayak for a bit and went paddling in the bay! It's beautiful!! It was nice to chill and relax while topping up our tans!!

We spent the night in Port douglas at a really nice hostel. We hired bikes for the day and explored Port douglas. Went on a steam train ride and then got back on our bikes. We got caught in a rain shower, which was good as I was wearing white!!! we then went to cycle up to a lookout but the hill was so steep that we turned around and came back down again. Well now we are on the east coast!! Nothing has really changed about Cairns from six years ago, it's still great and crazy.
