Well now we are on the east coast!! Nothing has really changed about Cairns from six years ago, it's still great and crazy. The famous woolshed is still going strong and is good for cheap free food and drinks. Our hostel is just outside of town in the peace and quiet, we are getting old you know!!
We travelled up to cape tribulation and on the way we went on a cruise on the daintree river which is famous for crocodiles, we only saw a baby one though. We then went for a walk through a mangrove forest. The amount of plants that can injure you is amazing. There is the plant that sticks to your clothing and skin, a boy was running through the forest one day when it stuck to his eye ands pulled it out. There is another plant which sticks bits in you and you suffer intense pain everytime your body heat changes- this can last for up to six months. Then there is the leaf which? is like a knife it can slice through skin!! They say travelling is fun!! I haven't even mentioned all the deadly animals yet.!! Enough about plants, back to our travels!! We walked up to? a lookout over Cape tribulation and on the way we saw monitor lizard. They are quite big but harmless. We then walked through the mossman gorge before arriving in port douglas.
After staying a night in Port Douglaswe headed back to cairns. We did a great barrier reef trip to green island in which we went on a glass bottom boat and saw lots of fish. we also had an interesting night out in the woolshed!!
