So the Car we rented would be my home for the next 4 days, i even slept in it...true backpacker style. We headed down the Westcoast and first turn, got completely lost!!! so much for Germans being good Navagators! She was rubbish, in all fairness though we had no map and were blatently going to get lost again.
So we stopped and bought the crappiest map we could find! Good call. However this trip was going to turn into one of the most beautiful sceneries and greatest adventures yet! We visited the Margeret River Region, where the ocean was crystal clear, the Pro surfers practiced every day (some enormas waves!), and the sun set every night with not a cloud in sight. It was simply gorgeous.
To be honest I cant remember all the names, but Bunbary, Busselton, Cape Naturaliste, Yallingup, Augusta, Rockingham and Cape Leauwin were some of many. Busselton had the most amazing pier, it streched for miles out into the crystal blue ocean. Cape Naturaliste had stringrays and dolphins swimming freely, i swear i could have stayed there for days on the sandy beaches watching the oceans and its creatures play.
And no i wasnt joking, i slept every night in the back of the car! Classy! Was a great experience though. I remember watching the sunset just off Margaret River and being attacked by Giant Crabs, and seagulls surrounding us just off Busselton when we had fish and chips on the beach. Tanja was brilliant company cracking me up with her semi German/American accent. We also decided to go all out and head inland after a while for a change, and my god the little villages were so quaint, literally a couple of houses and a pub.
The furthest down we got was a lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin, which was where the two oceans met, like the cape of good hope in SA. Really gorgeous views. And luckily we had sunshine, or clouds all the way down and back up!
oooh dont let me forget the crappiest lake that Tanja made me visit under duress, it was more like a swamp! She redeemed herself however with the hightest tree sight...so funny!
It was so nice not to be on a schedule, and have our own little Nissan to play around with.
Our tour concluded with a massive night out in Freemantle, visiting Cottellow beach and meeting up with Shannon! Shannon is fast becoming my favourite party person, shes such a sarcastic, mad, life loving girl. Mad night out and a great day chilling on Freemantle Beach, closely followed by a pint in the open air hotel. Perfect!
