Oh my god I am at home! Yes beware I am in the country, but not at home yet.
Muppet and Barns picked me up from Heathrow and drove me down to Cornwall. As usual I have to say that Virgin Atlantic Airways are second to none, flight was awesome, watched Borat, Dejavu and another film, the name eludes me right now! So as you can imagine the trip to Cornwall was a sleepy one. Great to see Muppet and Barns again though, she’s changed her hair and it actually looks pretty good!
Something I didn’t know was that the whole family were coming down to Cornwall – talk about overwhelming! All my uncles and Aunts excluding Monkale were there. So there were lots of hellos to be had. All good though. Really good to see Mum and Dad again as well, been 11 and a half months since I disappeared to China, and Cornwall and Ireland would make up the difference to a whole year.
Mum was really happy to see me, huge hugs and everything, dad however showed it in his own way…so what are you going to do with the rest of your life? You have a huge Barclaycard bill on your bed? And did you steal my jumper?
What a nice greeting that was!
You should’ve seen the house we stayed in though, absolutely stunning, right on the cliffs of Cornwall. I have never really appreciated Cornwall before but I think the trip has made me look at everything and it’s beautiful. We visited Newquay, Padstow, St Michaels Mount, the Eden Project, St Ives (were we sat on Granddads bench!) and of course my favourite Tintadual the birthplace of Arthur and Camelot. That was awesome, it’s on a little Island and there is Merlin’s Cave and the remains of an ancient castle... To think I never appreciated these places before, it really was so beautiful.
We were down in Cornwall because it was mums 40th (60th but shhhhh!) and she has also just retired! And we went to Rock Steins Seafood restaurant. It’s really nice, but having travelled on such a budget and eaten pretty well, it’s a little pricy for my taste! My cousin was the funniest though, trying to eat crab for the first time (pretty woman anyone!!!!! heehee). So it’s over to Ireland next, Cornwall’s been great. Its finally here Ireland!
