Left Nyngan on a bright cloudless day if a little cool at 1degree but its bound to warm up.
First stop was the Coo0labah Roadhouse for a drink and pics then on to the Mulga Creek Roadhouse -Pub,this was an original staging post for the stage coaches of the past era then on to Bourke . for dinner. Later went out to the Cementry to pay respect to Dr Fred Hollows a man who really made a difference.
Fred was born and buried in Bourke.
Later went out to the Wharfe area for pics ,Bourke was the northern most port on the darling river in the early years.
Left Burke after dinner and headed north west to Hungerford a small settlement right on the Qld-NSW border.Just a p[olice station,a pub and half a dozens homes all except one on the Qld side.
It would seem as though they took a leaf out of Trumps book and erected a fence to keep out the Southeners (see pics) however they took pity on me when I said In was really a kiwi and let me thro.
The road Bourke - Hungerford is mainly metal (dirt) but in reasonable condition as it had been recently graded.
Arrived Hungerford at 5pm so stayed the night there in their small van park
