Koh Tao
After a pretty heavy time partying in Koh Pangyan we all needed a well deserved break & I think everyone on the Island was doing a similar route as our Boat was packed to the rafters & was 2 days after the Full Moon Party so everyone was going here to Chillout or go Diving as this is the Diving Capital of the World & is the Cheapest to get Certified for the open Water / PADI Course.
They was still all 10 of us travelling together & we found AC Resort which was only 300 Baht per night for a two bed bungalow - 3.50 each on Sariee Beach which is the Most Popular place on the Island.
This place is absolute Tropical with Turcouise ocean with White Sand & we could literally see the Sea from our Bungalow & walk the 3km Stretch of Sarrie Beach which had loads of Bars & Restraunts on this West Coast which had really comfortable Seats with Entertainment & Fireshows on the Evenings. Most of the Evenings we would end up at lotus bar which was the most popular with wicked tunes, people dancing on the Beach & the Best Fire Shows I have yet seen. This was going strong until the early hours of the morning & was walking distance from our Pad.
Whilst on this Island we hired Kayakes & Hired Snorkelling Equipment. Me & Tom went solo then Will shared with Bella & Kristie shared with Josie & it was a tough ride so say the least. The Sea was strong & we had to stop off a few times.
We went around the Island heading down the West Coast to all the Secluded Beaches . We stopped at Hat Taa Toh Bay which is a little slice of Heaven with a small selection of bungalows on this secluded beach with only 1 place called Freedom Beach. The snorkelling along the rocks was really cool as you could get in between them & we seen many large tropical fish with really nice floresent colours around the nice but limited Coral. I am sure I seen a Black Tip but there was no-one there to belive me so I'll let it go. I wish I had an underwater Camera with me as I seen some of the best fish I've seen in my life.
We wanted to go to Shark Island & Shark Bay as the owner of the kayakes had told us that he went a few days before & seen about 20+ but we could not get to it as the Tide was sooo strong it would be really dangerous plus the Girls wouldnt of made it - haha only joking - none of us would. The kayake back was really hard & we were all struggling to move against the tide, I actually thought it was game over at one point & we would have to phone for a rescue boat but we made it after 3 hours of strong paddling.
As we didn't make it to Shark Island/Bay we decided to Hire a Man with a Tailboat to take us there the next day & hired snorkelling gear again. But unfortunately due to poor visibility & choppy sea we didn't see any Sharks but some amazing Coral & Fish again. The Boat Trip was really cool though as we went further around Koh Tao stopping off at Secluded Beaches that we wanted to stop off at.
on the way back Tom, Will & I stopped off at the "Car Bar" which we had been told about the previous night. We eventually found this after a while & was basically a Campervan in the middle of no-where which sells herbs & beers with Sofa's & Couches outside. You will see by the photo's that it looks like a Rasta Van & everyone on the Island just Rocks up here, buys some stuff then does one back to Resorts etc
This was the start of a very Funny, Random & Eventful night in Koh Tao of which Tom, Jesse, Will & Me couldn't stop laughing. This was our last night as a group & one of the best on Koh Tao, ended up having the "Best Fajita's Ever" that night & ended up in Lotus Bar of which we had front row seats.
The next Stop Ko Samui..........
