Melbourne

Well all our Scottish pals decided to take off home during our visit but we managed to get a quick date in with Angela and David before their flight. Melbourne is maybe the place to change our mind about Australia, it's a great city and we've had a great few days getting to know it a little bit better. Angela and Davids pad is in the centre of the city and had stupendous views from the rooftop terrace, a lucky wee pair meez thinks. We have been staying at my friend Mairi's here - even though she is in Scotland - and her boyfriend James has been taking care of us, a few beverages watching the cowboys game and then getting to know the neighbours back at the house. We decided to go to an aussie rules AFL game, we got updated on a few rules on the train on the way so tried to join in the crowds cheering and shouts. Darren decided to befriend a couple of old ladies and even ditched the team we were supporting to side with them - the words hussy and traitor spring to mind ;-)

Took a wee day trip on The Great Ocean Road. Some of the views were stunning and our aim was to make it to the "12 Apostles", we made it by the skin of our teach before the pitch black came. Although the name suggests 12 there are only about 5 big rocks left standing in the ocean and I guess they wont be there forever so was really glad we made it.

Sunset took a wee wonder down to St Kilda peer to see the penguins come in after hunting. We didn't see loads but the ones we did were mega cute. Off to New Zealand in the morning but so glad we came to Melbourne.
