Railay
Happy Anniversary!
Stopped in Krabi on the way here to wait for the boat and started the celebrations with a wee game of pool accompanied by a pina colada and a jack & coke ;-) A long tail boat then took us to Ton Sai Beach on Railay. We were in a bamboo hut at the top of the hill and a little bit into the jungle. Just sitting out the front we saw loads of monkeys jumoing about in the trees, too many insects flying around, but it was cool. We rented a kayak in the afternoon and went on a wee island hunt. It really was beautiful, a couple of wee caves or passages between the islands or hidden int eh rocks were cool to go into. It was a bit windy and wavey at times so we got good exercise at the same time. Compliments of Chief Al, Wee Sheila, Maria and Donald we had a beautiful steak dinner at the beach and classed it up with a bottle of "Sang Som" - Thai type of rum. Heading back to the room afterwards, Darren tried a bit of tight rope walking at a pub and a bit of bamboo smoking. We stopped by a wee shack and they had teh football on their tv so we asked if we could join. That is how to finish off our anniversary we ended up on the floor of a shack shop drinking yet more Sang Som with the locals and all in all it was a great wee night
Met a little snake on the trail to Railay Beach one day, no more on it was just cool. Got our first dive of teh trip in, saw a cuttle fish and a few more cool ones - our instructor was a butthead though. Railay is massive on rock climbing so spent time just sitting watching the masters at it and then watched the wee crabs on the beach make wee sandballs and then throw them under their legs.
Bangkok
Cool being back to a city that we were in on our last travels, even if its only to catch a flight tommorow. Seeing some of the changes that have happened. not loads but a few wee extra buildings have popped up along with the prices. We decided to move Darrens birthday bevy back a night as an excuse to head out in Bangkok. People watching is at its best on Khao San Road, wityh streeet vendors selling everything from "pad thai" - noodle dish, to scorpians on a kebab stick ;-)
love you long time xxx
