Day 88 - 4th October- NHD-
Well I wasn't expecting today to be as awesome as it turned out to be. . After a relatively uneventful mornings travel, the girls are back on the DVDs . We crossed the WA/SA border took photos with the big kangaroo and Vegemite . Stopped at the Nullarbor Road house. Latin =nullus Abor = trees No Trees The Aboriginal name Onndiri meaning "The waterless" as the average annual rainfall is about 8 inches. Which incidentally we have seen quite a lot of over the past two days. . The Nullarbor Plains stretches 450miles from east to west and 200 north to south covering 77,000 square miles. . On Aya and Woody's recommendations we made a detour off the Eyre Highway to go to the Head of the Great Australian Bight. . A full grown female weighs 80 tons . The dunes move inland 11 metres a year. GHD- 4th We get up and start driving. We drive to the SA boarder and then get out for some brunch. We drive to the head of the bight and go down to the board walk we see 4 big southern right whale and a baby one we also saw a seal and a turtle!!! It is soo windy and so cold that I have to go inside and so does Matilda we wait inside and talk to the lady about Launceston Gorge! The.
