I arrived in Slovakia a few days ago (more like 2 weeks ago, whoops! time slipped away in Slovakia) and met up with Emma, who I will be traveling through Slovakia. We attended the Hanna Hanna Festival together, an art festival. We walked around the festival, played games, and enjoyed the art and animals displayed there. I bought a small, decorated ceramic pot from the festival which was handmade for my Slovakia souvenir. We also met up to eat dinner together at a small restaurant in town. On my plane flight here I was told that if you asked people here what a traditional Slovakian meal is at least 90% would say "Bryndzove halusky", a meal of dumplings made from potato dough, with sheep cheese and scrambled bacon on top. Emma seemed to enjoy the meal a little more than me, but I still found it pretty palatable. 5 days ago Emma and I enjoyed a day at the spa, Darsana Spa. It was so relaxing after traveling all over Europe, Darsana spa is the first and best spa treatment that I have ever had and I am glad that I got to spend that time with my friend in Europe! 2 days ago, Emma and I toured Old Town, just an older part of town, a small town square surrounded by tall ,historical Slovakian buildings and in the middle of the square is a beautiful fountain. There was not many people in the square, which was nice just to admire the buildings and the fountain in semi-quiet. I loved traveling in Slovakia and will miss emma as she heads off to the Czech Republic, but tonight I met up with Allison for dinner and we are leaving together from the Bratislava airport tomorrow for Estonia! Tonight we are just catching up after our travels and experiences in 3 countries, and packing, and then we leave to experience more together! As always, I am sad that I am leaving Slovakia, but I am soo excited for traveling to the next country!
