Yesterday we got up early to head downstairs for our first breakfasts. Very nice.
We decided to spend to day being tourists and walking around taking photos. The first thing we got to was a temple called Suthat. Inside the main room there was a giant (maybe 15m tall) Buddha.
We found out that it was a Buddhist holiday so we sat in on a service and ritual. It was lead by a Monk singing follwed by the chorus of those there to worship. The room was fantastic. The walls covered inch-to-inch in ancient drawings of towns, rivers, mystical creatures etc.
Next we headed to Wat Po, after a small bakery diversion for Ben. Wat Po is a giant complex that contains "9 Wonders". The most impressive was the Reclining Buddha. A 15m tall, 35m long Reclining Buddha statue made of gold.
Just outside there is where we/Lewis was abducted by 6 Thai school gitls. They wanted some photos with us and then exchanged emails. Steve, check your emails.
In the night we had out first Tuk-Tuk experience. Ben bartered down the original 50baht price to 30baht for a 2 mile drive, about 20p each haha
After ripping through the streets we headed to a Sports Bar we'd already been to and had a few drinks. Some Thai ladies (yes ladies) started talking to us and thought that I "Talk weird Engrish" :S
Hmmm, indeed.
