We're here!! Finally started the travels and it feels f***ing weird! This 24- hours that we've been dreaming of for over a year is here. Now that it is, I don't know how to feel. Such mixed emotions and a 100% outer body, dream-like experience.
I feel like I've had the longest day of my life that started on Tuesday at 8am. It was so hard to leave the family and my Talia. It sucks balls :( xxx
When we'd said our goodbyes and got onto the plane we discovered we'd become "Part of the Team". Extra leg room comes with extra responsibilities on the emergency exit procedures. Lame.
Then we couldn't find the TVs so we felt doubly raped. Then we foud the tv. Then we couldn't find a table. Then we found a table. Then the tv broke.
When it was sorted it was pretty awesome. Watched the Hangover... again.
When we landed I started s***ting it again hoping we'd get through customs.
That was fine.
The airport was very impressive and huuuuge. There was a beautiful tropical garden outside the baggage collection, very stereotypical Asia.
First impressions were that the light makes everything seem hazed yellow/orange at dusk. The heat is awesome. Pumping the humidity at you aaaah. The breeze is no better than walking infront of a hairdryer.
Our 30 minute transfer to the hotel took 1.30 hours once we hit he legendary Bangkok rush hour traffic.
We lucked out at the hotel. Free Wifi. Free pool.
FREE 30 MINUTE THAI MASSAGE FREE YEAH YEAH!
We dropped our stuff off and went to try and find sone foooods.
p**** d out on alot of it and ended up at McDonalds. First night nerves.
Took some photos of a few shrines and things then found Khaosan Road...
Seedy. I got asked 4 times is 10metres for ;
"Pop pop. Ping pong show?"
A good sign of things to come.
